Debenhams to retrofit department stores with Array™ LED lamp technology

Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: NEXS) announced today that it has received an order for more than 4,000 Array™ LED Lamps for Debenhams department stores (United Kingdom). The lamps are to be installed in their flagship Dublin store as part of Debenhams ongoing commitment to responsible energy management.

An initial order of Array™ LED Lamps was installed in Debenham’s Waterford store recently and, upon positive feedback, the decision was made to place the order for over 4,000 additional Array™ LED lamps. The order represents a mix of Par 30, MR16 and G4 lamps.

“Our retail and commercial customers have been seeking products to help implement their green policies and save energy costs,” stated Steve Mallory of Atmospheric Zone LTD, Nexxus Lighting’s U.K. distributor, who worked with Debenhams project management team. “Now with a major U.K. retail store taking the lead, we are excited about the Array™ line of LED lamps and their patent-pending Selective Heat Sink™ method.”

Array™ LED lamp technology is quickly becoming a solution for corporations such as Debenhams to save on energy and maintenance costs while also being environmentally responsible through the reduction of carbon emissions. This project marks Nexxus’ launch of the new 230 volt, 50 Hz Array™ Par 30 lamp to the European market. The new 230 volt, Array™ Par 30 lamp features a patent-pending “Continuous Step Drive™” (CSD) circuitry design which is a unique and more efficient way to operate and dim clusters of LEDs. Array™ LED lamps are fully dimmable on most commercial dimmers; have a minimum rated life of 50,000 hours; and are one of the lightest retrofit lamp lines in the industry.

“The installation in the Waterford store was a huge success. The installation looked fantastic and we are extremely happy that Debenhams has decided to move forward with this next installation,” said Bill Blackley, Vice President of Nexxus Commercial Lighting. “It’s refreshing to see a company such as Debenhams not just talking about what needs to be done, but actually taking the lead in the race towards Carbon Neutrality. Michael Conway and the team at Debenhams put numerous hours into this project, meticulously breaking down maintenance and energy savings (both on and off peak), as well as the positive environmental impact. Now he and the rest of Debenhams energy management team can take comfort that their hard work will be rewarded,” concluded Mr. Blackley.
